Rebuilding Ms. Marita's Home with 91 Other Churches

About a month ago, I received an email from a Deacon from a small PCA church in the inner-city of New Orleans asking for financial help for one of their members who had a recent house fire. He shared that their mercy fund had been depleted (from multiple requests that come in weekly) and this need was too much for them to shoulder alone. The couple lives on a meager income of $1,000/month and had only a small house insurance policy that paid out $25,000. It is going to cost them $75,000 to rebuild their home.

The Diaconate Leadership Team decided to contribute $1,000 towards the $50,000 that they needed to raise. I just received this email from the Deacon:

"I am writing to you all this evening, completely humbled and awestruck, at the amazing ways so many of you have stepped up and contributed to help Ms. Marita and Mr. Charlie in their time of need. It has been absolutely amazing to watch!

As previously noted, we set out about a month ago, to raise $50,000. Today, I am ecstatic to report that we have done just that-- our goal has been met! And it is all in thanks to our PCA church family around the country and to the grace and mercy of our amazing God. There have been 92 churches from across the country who have stepped in so graciously to donate money to a family they've never met. And there have been countless others who have offered up prayers on their behalf. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We are so moved."

Thank you ACC family for contributing to our Mercy Fund on Easter. You helped this family to rebuild their home.
