RE-OPENING WORSHIP PLANS

ACC Worship

Dear ACC Family,

It has been wonderful to see the decline in the number of coronavirus cases in New York and to watch the civic and economic life of our city slowly begin to revive. It is encouraging to know that, God willing, the day is approaching when we will again gather physically to worship as a congregation.

Last week our elders approved the formation of a “Re-opening Task Force” directed by our Ministry Coordinator, Andrea Mungo, and comprised of various ACC members from different backgrounds of experience and training. The Task Force will apply best practices and health guidelines to devise a strategy for us to meet for worship. Please keep the Task Force in prayer and watch for the information they will be providing.

Our plan is to begin meeting for Sunday worship at the synagogue in early September. We are waiting until then because we want to have the right people, procedures, and equipment in place for public gatherings. We also want to coordinate our return to public worship with the re-opening plans of the ACI Synagogue, who are also planning to start meeting again in September.

In August we plan to offer outdoor communion services in a local public park, with face masks and social distancing required. Please watch for information about how to participate.

In the meantime, I hope you will stay connected with your brothers and sisters through our on-line worship services and fellowship time on Sundays, and through our on-line prayer meetings during the week. We plan to continue these on-line gatherings until we reconvene in the synagogue in September.

If you have need for prayer or questions about our re-opening plans, please do not hesitate to contact me.

                                                                                    Your brother in Christ,

                                                                                    Pastor David
