YoungLives addresses teen moms' pressing needs by creating a community that connects them to an anchored and supportive environment, educating and empowering them with life and parenting skills, and mentoring to improve the quality of life for young mothers and their children.
Treating each mom and her child or children with unconditional love and respect, YoungLives offers teen moms relief from the isolation and struggle of their daily lives and hope for the future.
Leaders meet regularly with teen mommies through weekly group activities. Childcare volunteers help us care for the babies while the teen moms are partaking in the different activities. We also offer the role of a mentor which meets with their mentee on a weekly basis on their own time.
YoungLives hosts a weekly Bible study for teen moms called Campaigners. It takes place from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm on Friday nights in LIC.
There is a background check for any individual interested in helping, done online and at no cost to the volunteer. The Young Life Quest training is also recommended for all volunteers. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
