Prayer walk in Astoria

I really enjoyed our united prayer walk with the members of the Astoria Baptist Church last Saturday. I walked through the streets of Astoria and Long Island City with a group of Christians I was meeting for the first time. We stopped and prayed together in front of various churches, schools and housing projects. I was greatly encouraged by the strong faith of the Christians in my group as they cried out to the Lord to work in mighty ways in our community.

There were two other groups, in addition to the one I was in, following different routes but praying in the same way. This prayer walk was part of a larger prayer effort organized by Concerts of Prayer Greater York. Approximately 10,000 Christians are walking through the five boroughs of New York on the Saturdays of June this year, praying together for God’s work in our city. I am grateful to Rev. Dr. Bobby Moore and the members of Astoria Baptist for joining with us in this time of prayer.
