Children's Worship

Children’s Worship is a time for children, ages 4 through 7, to receive age-appropriate instruction on the Word of God. Through interactive lessons, activities, crafts, and music, children are taught Biblical truths for their daily lives.

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it – Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)

Staff: The Children’s Worship ministry is staffed by a core group of volunteers from the congregation. Each class is staffed with a teacher and assistant who have committed to serving and praying for the children of our church.

Location: The Children’s Worship room is located on the second floor of the synagogue. From the lobby take the stairway to the right and continue to the end of the hall.

Class times: The Children’s Worship ministry takes place during both the 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. worship services. Children remain with their caregiver during congregational singing and are dismissed to their classroom during the offertory. Children should proceed to the back of the sanctuary, where they will be met their teacher. Children who are attending for the first time should be accompanied by their caregiver.

Pick-up: For safety reasons, we ask that caregivers pick up their children following the service. This also allows teachers to relay important information regarding your child’s progress. Children will not be dismissed on their own.

Food: We offer a healthy snack. If you do not want your child to have this snack, please let us know. If your child has a food allergy, please let us know.

Bathrooms: Our staff does not accompany children to the bathroom, though children are allowed to go on their own. If your child requires assistance in the bathroom, please let us know so that we can make arrangements to get you from the service if necessary.

Illness: Please keep your child with you if he or she is showing signs or symptoms of illness.

Curriculum: We use the Building Blocks Learning Program by Marvae Eikanas. Be sure to talk to your child about what he or she is learning! A Parent Sheet, available outside the Children’s Worship room, allows you to follow-up on each week’s lesson with an activity at home.
